I love sharing beautiful images. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
One of my favorite spots to visit is Belize. I love the people, the culture, and the natural habitat that intertwines throughout this beautiful country. The image of the Great Belize Blue Hole is a spectacular natural phenomena a world-class destination for those who enjoy scuba diving in crystal-clear waters. The marine life in these areas includes nurse sharks, giant groupers, and several types of reef sharks such as the Caribbean reef shark and the Blacktip shark. Dive excursions to the Great Blue Hole are full-day trips that usually consist of one dive in the Blue Hole and two additional dives in nearby reefs. The Great Blue Hole is a large underwater sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef about 62 miles from the mainland of Belize City. The hole is circular in shape, over 300 meters (984 ft.) across and 125 meters (410 ft.) deep. The world’s largest natural formation of its kind, the Great Blue Hole is part of the larger Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, a World Heritage Site of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). A place that I would love to visit but haven’t had the opportunity to as yet is Israel. A tour to Israel is a transformational experience and would be a spiritually uplifting adventure for me to share with friends and other Nazarites.
Many people comment on my locs and ask why do I style my hair this way. Although they say dreadlocs or dreadlocks, ‘dred’ is a shorten form of dreadful and those of us who style our hair this way understand this terminology and original thought behind this choose not to call our hair style dreadful, instead we say locs. About 10 years ago, I wanted to wear my hair in its natural state and remove the chemicals from my hair. This all went along with my seeking to be healthier. A few years later, I found out that wearing my hair loc’d have spiritual connotations and benefits. In my post ‘Raw living whole foods’, you may remember me mentioning that I separated myself to Yah. One of the ways to separate one’s self to Yah is by loc’ing your hair which is included in the Nazarite vow found in the Bible book of Numbers 6:1-9. Wearing locs provide a unique look that can convey so many different, positive messages all at once: style, cultural heritage, spiritual awareness and/or Yah’some Living.
If raw foods are more than a diet, what is Yah’some Living and a raw living whole food lifestyle? Although most people begin with diet, other aspects of the lifestyle to consider include exercise, meditation and spiritual practices, mindfulness and thought patterns, and much, much more. The beauty of Yah’some Living with the raw, living whole foods lifestyle is that it is an ancient yet newly emerging lifestyle, a concept that was practiced centuries ago and now is finding it’s way into our lives once again. We are ever evolving, changing and growing and we have begun to get back to the original plan of sustainable life and heaven on Earth. No one ever achieves ‘perfection’ but pursues a daily, personal path of growth and change. A person who follows the laws of the universe and lives on a raw vegan lifestyle provides a great foundation and starting point as well as a community of support for encouragement, motivation and friendship. Selah.
The other day someone asked me about eating raw food and they said “the raw food diet”. When I think of raw foods, I think of it as a lifestyle. When I hear “the raw food diet”, all that comes to mind is the diet pill advertisements promising you will loose 30 pounds in in 30 days or some other unrealistic weight loss promise. While this may be true in a small percent of the cases, it’s often been documented that those same people gain the weight back and sometimes more weight than they had before. With Yah’some living, it is all about a lifestyle of living a healthy vibrant life with good organic foods and clean living. I first began to think more seriously about my health and what I was eating from reading the Bible. God or “Yah” in Hebrew provided us with an abundant of foods to nourish and heal our bodies when we are sick. Eating raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and micronutrient foods was more about a spiritual awakening and gaining health then about loosing weight. However, in the process of my spiritual discovery and separating myself to Yah or Yahwah, I lost a great deal of weight and I continue to do so without even trying.
