CACAO

Chocolate –in its pure form as CACAO– is actually one of the healthiest foods on the planet! Research is continually proving that Cacao is actually a superfood.

The health benefits of this wonderful superfood are not widely known. Although, everyone enjoys chocolate, people do not consume it in its raw form for the maximum benefit that they can derive from it. Raw Cacao is chocolate that has not gone through any sort of heating or processing, so all of the nutrients are still intact.

Kefir Grains

Water Kefir Grains also known as Japanese Water Crystals are living grains that make great kefir.  Kefir is a fermented drink that has billions of living probiotics.  Probiotics are billions of “friendly” bacteria in your gut that are beneficial to your health and they are similar to the bacteria in probiotics.  Living bacteria are essential to good health and they take care of the bad nasty bacteria that try to take up resident. So trust me, you want these billions of living bacteria to do their job.  Probiotics are excellent for digestion, boosting immunity, lowering cholesterol, and blood pressure and that’s why kefir is so beneficial and so easy to make.

How to make Kefir?

Kefir can assume a variety of flavors just by adding organic fresh or dried fruit to your alkaline water add kefir grains in a quart or bigger glass container (never use metal on kefir grains it will kill the grains and they wont be effective) and about ½ cup of sugar and cover with a cloth. Yes, I said sugar.  I know, it sounds crazy coming from me, but the kefir grains eat sugar, which then ferments the water, and turn it into living probiotics.  After 24 hours in a dark cupboard between 65 to 75 degrees the results are a fizzy drink that taste delicious.  Simply strain the liquid using a plastic strainer into another glass container. The kefir water is now ready to drink. Use the grains immediately for your next batch of water kefir, and keep it going.  If you’re not using the kefir grain you can store them in some organic alkaline sugar-water for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

Food Matters

Ok we finally have a movie that explains it very clearly why supermarket foods are not the best way to provide nutrition for our bodies. What I have found over the last 13 years is that, the food that we call food is not food. Not food you say? Well what’s the definition of food? “Any nutritious substance that contains or consists of essential body nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals, and is ingested and assimilated by an organism to produce energy, stimulate growth, and maintain life.” Would you say that most foods you purchase from the supermarket is nutritious? Fundamentally, the food you eat creates you on a very basic level, if you think about the food that nature provides in it’s natural state it is fresh, vibrant, colorful and whole, the processed food that many people eat today is lifeless, starchy and bland in color and flavor; come to think of it that’s why they need flavor enhancers, etc. If raw foods nourish and create you, which would you rather eat, natural raw organic whole foods or lifeless, starchy and bland stuff?

As we are nature and food is nature it makes sense that when we eat food in its natural raw state that it supports us, completely nourishes us and connects us deeply to our true self and the Most High. Make since right? Still not sure…let’s take a look at this very informative documentary film directed by James Colquhoun and Laurentine ten Bosch titled, “FOODMATTERS”.
